Executive Job Search Advice – How To Look For Executive Jobs At Job Fairs

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on 29.12.09

The best way of mastering jobs is attending job fairs. It is necessary to prepare yourself before attending any expo. Generally, all job fairs have similar elements and processes which require your attention. The most important aspect is how efficiently you distribute you resumes and make contacts with the employees of different companies.

Only having technical skills such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word does not qualify you to work for an organization. For fulfilling company’s objectives teamwork is necessary. At job fairs, recruiters thus want to see if you are capable of normal social interaction and if they could work with you for five days a week in a professional environment. They basically judge your social skills over there.

It is definitely helpful in enhancing your interaction skills by researching companies in advance. By this you can able to ask good questions and can easily leave an impression. Company information can be easily collected out by (1) finding official websites, (2) Googling the name of the company, or (3) linking from job-fair websites (for example www.jobconcierge.com’s job-fair page: http://www.jobconcierge.com/job-fairs) which may be used by you for finding information about current job fairs.

One habit that you should practice is preparing notes after meeting recruiters. You should pick up the visiting cards before leaving, and on your way back take notes about personal and professional details that you learned about each recruiter. This will be very helpful later for follow-up letters or name-referencing in future interview, otherwise there may be a case when you may not remember what you talked about after two or three days go by. For job search advice and follow up letters advice, be sure to check out the JobConcierge’s Best Job Search Advice on the Internet (http://www.jobconcierge.com/best-job-search-advice)

Always remember to send thank-you letters to the representatives with whom you spoke. It is a common and professional courtesy that is generally expected of all serious fair-goers. They will serve as another signal that you are interested in working for the company. You can let them know that you appreciate their time and are enthusiastic about the opportunity to work for them in the future. The thank-you letter should not be sent any later than 48 hours after your interaction with the representative. With any luck, those good impressions-combined with a strong, targeted resume-will convert your job-fair effort into a new career. So whether you’re looking for advice on general job advice, job fair advice, or thank you and follow up letters advice, JobConcierge’s free job search advice is the right place comes to start your executive job search.

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on 29.12.09

In consulting firms interviews you may be asked some “real-world” problem, usually one with which you’re totally unfamiliar! Use them as an opportunity to demonstrate how you approach problems. They also try to pressurize you usually through silence or confrontational questions, to see how you react. Answer pleasantly and calmly, ignoring the provocation.

If you have questions, be sure to ask the recruiter or headhunter prior to the second interview who had set up the arrangement. It generally is a daylong series of discussions with potential supervisors, co-workers and other managers or department heads. LCD Monitors Compared To CRTs And LCD Monitor Repair

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on 18.12.09

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display. LCD monitors are about 1″ to 3″ thick. They weigh less than 10 pounds. Much better than the older CRT monitor that weighs 30 to 50 pounds and is several inches thick.

Colored pixels, backlight, a sheet of polarized glass, a layer of liquid crystal solution, and a second polarized sheet of glass are the five layers that the LCD monitor consists of. A picture is created when the crystals act like tiny shutters, opening or closing in response to the stimulus, thereby allowing degrees of light that pass through specific colored pixels to illuminate the screen.

The LCD monitor is easier on the eyes and brighter than the older CRT monitor. It takes up 90% less space and weighs only a few pounds. It uses one-third to one-half the electricity of CRTs.

Most LCD monitors range from 15″ to 21″ although larger sizes are available. To get an idea of what size screen you should choose, the 15″ LCD will have an actual 15-inch viewing screen.

Brand names for LCD Monitors: gateway, packard bell, acer, hp, compaq, dell, viewsonic, samsung, relisys, envision, benq, eizo, ibm, jetway , lenovo, nec, philips, proview, Iiyama, sharp, sony, lg, westinghouse, norwood, lacie, xerox, asus, aoc.

Steps To Install Flashing In Your Roof

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on 16.12.09

All the households are left wandering about the possible ways of preventing water leaks and molds. Installing a roof flashing is one way of handling the situation. Roof flashing is a sheet of water-proof material that protects your roof from seepages and leakages. It takes care of the leak-prone areas of the roofs such as valleys, voids etc.

Since valleys and the voids of the roof are the places susceptible to water accumulation and seepage, they’re equipped with the essential layer of flashing. Hence, it becomes quintessential to make way for such roof flashing when it comes to ensuring a leak-proof setting to your roof.

Start off the project by noting down the dimensions of the roof spread where the flashing would be installed. Walk down to a local hardware store and purchase the required flashing material. With the help of a utility knife or tin snips, cut out the appropriate length of flashing from the material.

Place the segment of flashing on the valley of the roof such that the centre of the sheet lies on the middle of the valley. Install the flashing in such a way that it covers the edges as well as the middle of the void. The line that joins the two sides of the roof is also covered by the flashing.

Once you’ve laid the flashing flat on the roof, staple it to the underlying setup such that a margin of about 2 inches is left on each side of the flashing. Don’t nail the setup as that could hurt the material of the flashing to large extent. The setup would render a water-proof setting to your roof. An additional fascia board layer can be accommodated in the scheme of things to cover those voids that were left unattended during the flashing.

After the initial phase of the project is over, move to the next phase of enveloping the flashing setup. Pour liberal amount of tar on the concerned spread and scatter it well. Let the tar solidify and then move ahead with the proceedings.

Now, bring the shingles in along with the associated nails. Take a hand-held hammer and nail down the shingles one by one. The shingles form the layer next to the tar such that the tar lies underneath the shingles. A pry bar tool can be used to detach the shingles that are installed inaccurately.

Test whether the assignment is accomplished or not. Observe water leaks or molds on the interior walls or ceilings after a heavy rainfall. No such problem seals the success of the assignment.

Scott Rodgers is a great writer who has been authoring on roofing contents for a long time now. His extraordinary guidance has given motivation to a number of workers, ranging from Batson Roofers (Need one? click here!) to Boyd Roofers (Need one? click here!).
