Why You Need To Plan For Retirement

Posted in Finance on 04.06.09

Retirement is something we are all going to get to one day, so if you do it sooner or later it doesn’t really matter. If you think you are ready to go on early retirement then that is what you need to do. There is no age limit for how long an individual c

When you are physically able to do the job, then your job should be a secure one. Of course you probably dream of spending the day fishing one day or enjoying the beach instead of working. This day is coming, so you need to get prepared for that day.

The first thing that you will have to think of is your social security payment. In most cases this payment is based on your best thirty-five years of work. If you take your retirement too early you may not get enough money out.

Money is important for anyone who is looking to retire, as they have to have some sort of income for the rest of their lives. They will no longer be working; therefore they will not be generating any income other than what they are paid out from their pension. So money is as important as it gets in this situation.

Once you retire, the rest of the world doesn’t stop along with you. Of course you can decide to go out and have a great time. Perhaps you have wanted to go sky diving but you weren’t able to because of work. Well now is the perfect time to do it now that you are retired.

Once you are retired, this is a great time to go ahead and do all those things you have wanted to do for so long. Whether you retire early or later, more than likely you will have a nice retirement party thrown by friends and family. It will be a time you can enjoy and you can celebrate the end of work and the beginning of your retirement.

Believe it or not, once you have stopped working you will save some money. So even if your pension isn’t all that much, there are still other savings that you have to consider. The gas money you will save from traveling to and from work, or the money used on public transport. You will no longer have to buy fancy work clothes.

There will be no vending machine or tuck shop for your lunch or snack and no more stops at the coffee-on-the-go shops every morning. However, all that money is probably never going to be seen. What are you going to do with all the spare time you will have? You will have to travel the world or do something that will take up your time.

Many people retire and after some time spent doing their own thing they either go back to their old jobs part time, find a new part time job, or start their own business. You don’t have to do any of these. You could just do your own thing, but rather find something to do with your spare time if you get bored.

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on 04.06.09

Gospel music is written and sung to express and proclaim Christian beliefs. Gospel music has been around since the early 50’s. Its music has been used to propagate peace and the word of God. This type of music has many roots that influenced it sound.

Some of the conservative Christian groups still do not want to accept this but basically it proclaims the same message only in different style. In its early phase country music and blues has music is the most evident form that can be heard in its notes. It has evolved too many forms basically because the artist are moving forward with time. It already has Rap gospel music and Rock Gospel Music.

We love to pray it is our life. They say that you pray twice when you sing praise and worship songs to God. And for Christians prayer is a way of life. We always want to talk to God. Listening to Gospel music gives its listeners a different high; it is known to lift its listeners to a different state.

I have been playing in our church band and I have enjoyed it in a different levels. I am also currently playing secular music in my other band, but to play Gospel music is my passion and this gives me a different kind of satisfaction. I think because I am singing and making music for a higher purpose. For one it joins me with my creator and helps me propagate his words through one of the most effective mediums which are music.

Come and join us in Mountain View this coming August of 2009 and share a blessed time with us. It is always fulfilling to listen to good traditional Gospel music. Proclaim God’s message while communing and sharing time with him. You will be joining a group of people where you can share praise and worship.

Wristbands around the world

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on 04.06.09

While todays trend of wearing rubber wristbands is certainly a relatively recent development in the course of human history, the practice of wearing a band on ones wrist as a symbolic gesture is not a new concept. The bracelets worn in ancient Roman, Chinese, and Indian cultures, however, had quite different meanings than the rubber bracelets people wear today in an effort to express their support of a variety of social and political causes, including disease awareness, prevention, and eradication, as well as acknowledging a societal need to eliminate violence and poverty.

While in ancient times, wrist adornment was a matter of social standing, in the modern world rubber wristbands are worn by politicians, actors, military personnel, and athletes alike, regardless of race, nationality or creed. In Barack Obamas 2008 presidential campaign, he donned a black (metal) wristband given to him by the mother of a young man who was killed in the Iraq War as a sign of remembrance.

In the early 2000s, the color of a rubber wristband signified ones allegiance to a certain cause or belief:

A purple wrist band: signified the fight against domestic violence

The pink band signified the desire to eradicate breast cancer, and

The bright yellow wristband worn by those supporting world-champion cyclist Lance Armstrong in his 2004 Livestrong campaign against cancer have been among the most popular.

Wristbands usually cost no more than $1 and as more and more charitable organizations join the wristband bandwagon, it is easy to find a rubber bracelet that will help you express your support of any cause.

The sale of these wristbands is a means of fundraising for selected causes. In Bellflower, California, high school students made beaded bracelets and sold them in an effort to raise money for impoverished children in India so that they can have cleft palate surgery through the organization Smile Train. In only one afternoon, students raised over $100, which may not be much for some fundraising efforts, but is significant for a student organization.

Modern wristbands signal a fun and fashionable way to finance the combat against deadly situations. In ancient Rome, China, and India however, the wearing of bracelets was serious business.

In ancient Greek cultures, ornate gold or silver wraps were worn above and below the elbows of women. These adornments served a dual purpose. Since they were often detailed with lions, snakes or other powerful animals, they were thought to repel evil spirits; they were also worn to be an attractive accent to their flowing gowns and elaborate hairstyles. Greek men wore metal or leather cuffs on their forearms, but theirs served the very material role of being protection in battle.

In ancient China, wrist coverings were as much a part of a kings wardrobe as his silk robes and head coverings were. Their bracelets and those of others in their aristocracies were adorned with phoenix and dragon designs, which incorporated precious metals and stones; they were also a means of signifying affluence.

And lastly, in a tradition still existing today not unlike a Westerners wedding ring, gold bangles were worn as one of the signs of a womans marital status in ancient India. The value and number of bangles a woman wore were a direct reflection of her husbands prominence and wealth.

Habits of Top Copywriters

Posted in Other - Business & Finance on 04.06.09

Last year, I studied interviews with over 60 of the top copywriters around. I found some interesting patterns between them.

All the copywriters had a pattern of doing research, writing and editing. That’s no shock. The difference came in how much time each copywriter spent in each area.

Would you believe there was no consistency among any of them? There was a range of anywhere from 40-80% of their time spent on research alone to spending 20-55% on writing. One guy even didn’t do any editing at all. The lesson there is to find your own way as long as you get the result. I don’t recommend beginners skip the editing phase.

There was a common theme that developed on what it’s like for top copywriters when they write. There was some kind of core emotion involved in the creation process. Sometimes it was something different for each segment (detective, conversationalist and editor) or a simple enjoyment and fascination with the process altogether.

That strong emotion could be described as a flow state. Athletes know about being in the zone. It’s the same thing. It’s where your ability comes up against a commensurate challenge and everything else seems to fade away while you fully immerse yourself in the experience.

What if you’re new to copywriting and don’t know how to find that flow experience? Look for it in another area of your life. Maybe you’ve lost yourself in a dance, a painting or while cooking. What’s it like during that activity? Consider what brings on that flow state for you. If it’s music, a feeling, etc apply that to your writing.

The copywriters have some other things in common too. How about the time of day they write? Isn’t it true that the early bird gets the worm? Or how about the old saying, “Early to bed, early to rise…”

The pattern was that there was very little consistency there either. Many copywriters like to knock out an hour or two of writing first thing in the morning. Some say though that they do their best writing in the afternoon or evening once everyone else is gone to bed and all is quiet. So it’s really up to you to find your most productive time.

How long should you keep revising things? Some top copywriters pride themselves on getting a job out in one business day. Others revise and revise… until the company finally calls and asks for it.

The point of all this is to get out there and do it. Yes, brush up on your techniques and skill, but don’t fret that you’re not doing things in the right amounts or right times. Find what works for you and gets you the result you want.
